CARTAGENA SERIES PART 1: DISCOVERING THE COLORFUL CITY
When it comes to travel, Cartagena is a city that leaves a lasting impression. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by its vibrant energy and rich history. My friend Marcel and I had the pleasure of staying in an Airbnb located within the walled city. It was a fantastic location for us, offering easy access to the city's famous food, drinks, and nightlife.

Additionally, I was taken aback by the high level of prostitution that was visible in the area at night.
Despite this, I have to say that the restaurants in the area were excellent. I highly recommend dining at one of the many rooftop restaurants, where you can enjoy the beautiful city views while enjoying a delicious meal. The clock tower area is particularly stunning, with its well-maintained walking paths and beautifully designed buildings.
In contrast, the authentic neighborhood of Getsemani completely contrasted to the walled city. This area had a much more relaxed and hipster vibe, with a plethora of cool coffee shops and restaurants to explore. If you're looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the walled city, I highly recommend taking a 5-minute walk to Getsemani.
During my trip to Cartagena, Marcel and I also had the chance to explore the surrounding beaches and islands. We were eager to experience the beach-hopping and island-hopping that the city is famous for. Our first stop was a private island called Bendita Beach. This secluded spot was a perfect place to relax in the sun and enjoy some snorkeling and freediving. I was even lucky enough to spot some wild parrots and monkeys while I was there. It was a truly memorable experience.
