All of these resorts mentioned are under the Hyatt brand, which offer incredible experiences, especially for those who prefer a child-free vacation. Whether you’re a dual-income, no kids couple (DINK) like us, or just looking for a peaceful getaway, these resorts should definitely be on your radar.

Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres

We recently returned from a four-night stay at Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres, a brand-new resort located in the northeastern part of Cancun. This resort offers a unique experience, especially for those who enjoy the benefits of being part of the Preferred Club. While the resort is still in its soft launch phase, meaning some amenities are still being fine-tuned, we found it to be a beautiful place to stay.

First Impressions:

  • Taryn: The resort’s design incorporates natural elements, like the limestone rock formations in the pool area, which added a nice touch. However, the lush foliage that Secrets resorts are known for was still being established, making the grounds feel a bit sparse.

  • DeAndre: The location is pristine, with ocean views from the Preferred Club rooms. The beach was one of the best we've seen in Mexico, with fine, almost sugar-like sand and relatively little seaweed.

Preferred Club Experience:

  • While we enjoyed our stay, some of the usual Preferred Club perks weren’t as clear-cut at this new resort. For example, there was little distinction between Preferred and non-Preferred areas, which was a bit disappointing compared to other Secrets resorts we’ve visited.

  • Taryn: The room was gorgeous, with a private pool and stunning ocean views. The beach access was excellent, and the swings at the beach bar were a highlight for me.

Impressions Moxche by Secrets

Next up, one of our all-time favorite resorts: Impressions Moshe by Secrets. This place truly knocked it out of the park for us. Located in the heart of Cancun, this resort offers an elevated experience with its Preferred Club and Impressions-exclusive amenities.

This hands down is one of the best resorts we’ve ever stayed at!

Why We Loved It:

  • Taryn: This was my first Secrets experience, and it set a high bar. The differentiation in the Preferred Club experience was clear, with exclusive restaurants, pools, and even a rooftop bar just for Impressions guests. The food was exquisite, particularly at the Seaside Restaurant and the premium dining experience at Teodoro.

  • DeAndre: The Butler service here was phenomenal. They took care of everything we needed, from handling a minor health issue to ensuring we had a seamless experience throughout our stay. The resort’s nightclub, Gypsy, was also a standout, offering a speakeasy vibe and the best nightlife experience we’ve seen at any all-inclusive resort.

The Highs and Lows:

  • High: The incredible rooftop pools, the premium dining experience, and the overall luxury of the Impressions section.

  • Low: The beach experience was a bit of a letdown due to persistent vendors, but the resort’s sand-bottom pool made up for it.

Honorable Mentions

We also wanted to highlight a couple of other resorts that are worth considering:

  1. Secrets Aura Cozumel: We stayed here for five nights and loved the beachfront room, which offered the best beach access we've ever had. While the property is older and had some HVAC issues, the staff and location made it a great stay, especially for diving enthusiasts.

  2. Breathless Cancun Soul: This resort is perfect for those looking for a vibrant, party atmosphere. The pool parties are legendary, and the resort offers a lively, energetic vibe that’s different from the more relaxed atmosphere at Secrets. However, the lack of complimentary wine or champagne was a bit of a drawback for us.

Points and Rewards

For those wondering how to make these stays happen using points, here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres: This is an award category D resort, with points ranging from 25,000 to 35,000 for a standard room.

  • Impressions Moshe by Secrets: This top-tier resort is an award category F, with points ranging from 42,000 to 58,000 for a standard room.

  • Secrets Aura Cozumel and Breathless Cancun Soul: Both are award category C resorts, with points ranging from 21,000 to 29,000 for a standard room.

Final Thoughts

All in all, Hyatt’s all-inclusive resorts offer something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a quiet, romantic getaway or a lively party atmosphere, there’s a resort that fits the bill.
