Six Senses has built a reputation for some of the most luxurious wellness resorts in the world, but many of its properties require a long journey and a serious number of points to reach. Six Senses La Sagesse in Grenada offers something a little different.
Located on the Caribbean island of Grenada, this beautiful property gives travelers from North America a chance to experience the Six Senses brand without flying halfway around the world. Even better, the resort can be booked using IHG One Rewards points, making it an especially interesting option for points and miles travelers.
We recently stayed at Six Senses La Sagesse Grenada, and this turned out to be one of the most relaxing hotel stays we’ve had.
From an unexpected upgrade to an Ocean View Pool Suite to phenomenal breakfast, beautiful pools, an impressive spa, and some of the best service we experienced during the trip, there was a lot to love.
There were a few areas where the resort could improve, particularly the beach and the number of dining and evening entertainment options. But overall?
This was an easy 10/10 stay for us.
Here’s our complete Six Senses La Sagesse Grenada review.

Check-In: 10/10
Six Senses made an impression almost immediately.
As soon as we stepped out of the car, we were welcomed with a local tropical drink while the staff took care of our luggage. Everything happened so seamlessly that I honestly don’t even remember seeing our bags leave. They simply showed up in our room.
We arrived approximately an hour before the official check-in time, but our suite was already prepared.
The actual welcome experience was also unlike a typical hotel check-in.
We participated in a spice ritual, which was a fitting introduction considering Grenada is known as the “Spice Isle.” The staff explained some of the ways Six Senses incorporates local spices into the guest experience, and we were also able to choose teas during the welcome.

A Surprise Complimentary Upgrade
One of the biggest surprises came when we learned that we had received a complimentary room upgrade.
We originally booked a Bay View Suite, but the hotel upgraded us to an Ocean View Pool Suite.
We are IHG cardholders but have relatively low IHG status, so this certainly wasn’t an upgrade we were expecting.
I had emailed the hotel before our arrival and politely asked whether there was any possibility of an upgrade. I have no idea whether that made a difference, and I certainly wouldn’t count on receiving the same upgrade, but we were incredibly grateful for it.
And once we saw the room, we realized just how good the upgrade was.
Ocean View Pool Suite: 10/10
Wow.
This was probably one of the largest hotel rooms we’ve ever stayed in.
But size wasn’t the only thing that impressed us. The attention to detail throughout the suite was spectacular.
The highlight was easily our private pool. And when I say private pool, I’m not talking about a small soaking pool or the typical plunge pool attached to a hotel room.
This was an actual mini swimming pool.
Combined with the large outdoor patio, it gave us a private space where we could easily spend hours without ever needing to head down to the resort’s main pools.

Inside, we found several welcome amenities waiting for us, including cake, cookies, and fresh fruit. The hotel also provided daily touches such as chocolates.
There was a Nespresso machine in the room, and the initial minibar selection was complimentary. That included two beers, two soft drinks, and two house-made fruit drinks. Additional replacements after the complimentary selection came with a charge.
Fresh drinking water was plentiful and replenished throughout the day.

The bathroom was another highlight.
There was a beautiful standalone bathtub positioned so you could enjoy the ocean view while taking a bath, and Six Senses seemed to have thought of practically every toiletry we might need.
That included a biodegradable toothbrush and toothpaste, shower cap, sewing kit, and plenty of other small amenities.

This is the type of room where the small details add up. Rather than simply feeling luxurious because of its size, the suite felt thoughtfully designed around the entire guest experience.
Pools: 10/10
The pools at Six Senses La Sagesse were pristine.
The resort was only around 35% occupied during our stay, which obviously influenced our experience, but the pool area felt incredibly peaceful.
There was no chair game whatsoever.
Nobody was waking up early to throw a towel over a lounger and disappear for five hours. We could simply arrive, choose where we wanted to sit, and relax.
And the service started almost immediately.
After putting our things down, a staff member welcomed us with fresh cold coconuts and spiced popcorn.
There isn’t a swim-up bar, but we never really missed having one. The staff were attentive enough that getting food or drinks was never an issue.
Another thing we appreciated was the amount of shade. There were plenty of umbrellas throughout the pool area, making it easy to escape the Caribbean sun when needed.
For us, the pools were one of the strongest parts of the entire resort.
Beach: 4/10
This was probably the weakest part of our Six Senses La Sagesse experience.
There was sargassum on the beach during our stay. That’s something many Caribbean destinations deal with seasonally and obviously isn’t something the resort can completely control.
The beach itself was also fairly small, and during our visit very few guests seemed to be spending much time there.
You could certainly sit on the beach and relax, but with such beautiful pools available, the pool area was clearly the main attraction.
We didn’t spend enough time in the beach chairs or order anything there, so I can’t fairly judge the beach service.
It is also worth mentioning that Six Senses offers a complimentary shuttle to another beautiful beach and beach club. We didn’t take advantage of it during this trip, so I can’t personally review that experience.
For travelers choosing this hotel primarily for a spectacular resort beach, this is something I’d keep in mind.
For travelers who care more about pools, wellness, rooms, and relaxation, it may not matter nearly as much.
Food: 9/10
I’ll admit that I’m a bit of a foodie.
I really enjoy great restaurants and food experiences when we travel, which makes this one of the categories where I tend to be a little harder to impress.
And the food at Six Senses La Sagesse was excellent.

The only reason I wouldn’t give the overall dining experience a perfect 10/10 is the limited number of dinner options.
There is essentially one main restaurant for dinner. The food itself was fantastic, but during a longer stay, you may want more variety.
Dining somewhere else means arranging transportation to another hotel or restaurant.
Poolside food, meanwhile, was great.
Breakfast: An Easy 10/10
Breakfast deserves its own rating because it was phenomenal.
Breakfast was included with our stay and offered far more than a standard hotel buffet.
You could enjoy the buffet and order freshly prepared dishes from the menu, all included.
There was fresh yogurt, local dishes, beautiful tropical fruit, a bread station, a yogurt station, practically every type of egg preparation you could want, and plenty of made-to-order choices.

The quality was excellent, but so was the value.
At a luxury resort where food costs can add up quickly, having a breakfast this extensive included with the stay made a noticeable difference.
Entertainment and Activities: 6/10
This rating comes with an important caveat.
Six Senses La Sagesse is a wellness resort. It isn’t trying to be a party resort.
Travelers looking for a peaceful place to switch off, relax, spend time at the spa, enjoy the pools, and slow down will probably love that.
Travelers looking for nightlife and a packed entertainment schedule may find the evenings too quiet.
There was basically nothing happening after dinner during our visit.
During the day, however, the resort offers different activities for guests.

One experience during our stay showed just how attentive the staff could be.
The World Cup was taking place, and several guests were asking about where they might be able to watch the USA vs. England game.
One of the resort’s GEMs checked with guests during breakfast and arranged a complimentary World Cup watch party in the library.
They brought in a television and audio setup and provided snacks and drinks, all complimentary.
It wasn’t something the resort had to do, but it was a thoughtful example of the personalized service we experienced throughout the stay.
Is Six Senses La Sagesse Good for Families?
Although this was an adults-only trip for us, we did take a look at the kids club.
And it was impressive.
The facility was huge and beautifully designed, with plenty for children to do. There was an indoor play area as well as a dedicated nap room.
We didn’t actually use the kids club, so I can’t review the service or programming firsthand. But based purely on the facilities we saw, families aren’t an afterthought here.
Spa: 10/10
It would be difficult to stay at a Six Senses property without talking about wellness, and the spa at La Sagesse did not disappoint.
The spa facilities were beautiful and complimentary for resort guests to use.

The facilities included a beautiful pool, cold plunge pools, dry sauna, steam room, and several relaxation spaces with gorgeous views.
I also found the treatment pricing relatively reasonable compared with what we’ve seen at other high-end luxury hotels.
I booked a massage, and it ended up being one of the best massages I’ve ever had.
The locker rooms were excellent, too.
One detail I particularly liked was that complimentary drinks and snacks were available to everyone using the spa facilities, not only guests who had booked a paid treatment.
This is one part of the resort I absolutely wouldn’t skip.
Resort Grounds: 10/10
The entire Six Senses La Sagesse property was gorgeous and extremely well maintained.
Because the resort is still relatively new, some of the landscaping and vegetation is still maturing. You can imagine how lush the property will look once everything has had more time to grow.

Even now, however, it’s beautiful.
The architecture, landscaping, views, and overall design work together exceptionally well, and there are plenty of spaces where you can simply sit and enjoy the surroundings.
Pro Tip: Bring a UK Power Adapter
Here’s one practical thing we wish we’d remembered before arriving.
Bring a UK-style power adapter.
Grenada was formerly a British colony, and British influence remains in several aspects of life on the island, including UK-style electrical outlets and driving on the left side of the road.
We forgot our adapters, but thankfully the front desk brought us two complimentary converters to use during our stay.
It’s a small thing, but definitely worth adding to your Grenada packing list.
Is Six Senses La Sagesse Worth It?
For us, absolutely.
Despite giving the beach and entertainment lower individual ratings, our overall experience at Six Senses La Sagesse was still a 10/10.
Why?
Because the things this hotel is designed to do, it does exceptionally well.
The rooms are spectacular. The pools are beautiful. The spa is fantastic. Breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. Service was consistently attentive, and the entire property encourages you to slow down and actually relax.
That last part is important when deciding whether Six Senses La Sagesse is right for you.
This isn’t necessarily the resort I’d choose for a nightlife-heavy Caribbean vacation. And travelers whose number-one priority is spending all day on a huge white-sand beach may find better options elsewhere.
But for luxury, wellness, privacy, beautiful accommodations, great food, and relaxation, Six Senses La Sagesse delivers.
Booking Six Senses La Sagesse With IHG Points
One of the biggest reasons this property should be on the radar of points and miles travelers is its participation in IHG One Rewards.
Six Senses has some extraordinary properties around the world, but visiting them can mean flying to destinations in Asia, the Middle East, or remote islands and spending a substantial amount of cash or points.
Grenada provides a much more accessible opportunity for many North American travelers to experience the brand.
And in our case, the value we received for the points we used was excellent.
That’s especially compelling when you consider everything that was included in the experience, from our incredible breakfast to spa access and various complimentary amenities and activities around the resort.
Award pricing can change, so I always recommend checking current cash and points rates for your dates before deciding which way to book.
Six Senses La Sagesse Grenada: Final Verdict
Overall Rating: 10/10
Our stay at Six Senses La Sagesse was amazing.
It was peaceful, luxurious, and genuinely relaxing, with the kind of thoughtful service and small touches that make a hotel stay memorable.
The Ocean View Pool Suite was spectacular, the spa was one of our favorite areas of the property, and breakfast alone gave us something to look forward to every morning.
Most importantly, the resort provides an opportunity to experience Six Senses luxury in the Caribbean without traveling across the world or spending an outrageous number of points to do it.

For points and miles travelers looking for a relaxing luxury escape, Six Senses La Sagesse Grenada absolutely deserves a spot on the list.
Would we stay again? Without question.
