Skipping the long line at the standard check-in desk felt like a much-needed bonus after our travels.

One unique perk of this resort is that it shares the property with Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall, the family-friendly counterpart. The two resorts connect seamlessly, making it perfect for groups traveling with both adults and kids. Even though we stayed on the adults-only side, we could easily walk over to Ziva for restaurants and entertainment without ever losing the relaxed, grown-up vibe of Zilara.

One of the biggest highlights at Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall was the food — something all-inclusive resorts can struggle with. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to a steady stream of flavorful dishes, with a clear emphasis on showcasing local Jamaican cuisine.

The absolute standout was the Jerk Shack, open until 3 a.m. and serving some of the best jerk chicken we’ve ever had. The flavor was bold, the chicken perfectly grilled, and the spice level toned down enough for anyone to enjoy. Add in freshly made Jamaican beef patties, and it quickly became our go-to snack spot after late nights at the resort’s nightclub. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Jamaican restaurant, Roots. Being on the adult side of the resort, we were able to hear the Friday night glow party at the pool, which enticed us to pop over.

There’s also a French restaurant, which was surprisingly casual for an upscale dining option — no dress code requiring long pants for men, which was a refreshing change from other all-inclusives we’ve stayed at. The food here was solid, though the atmosphere felt a little more family-friendly than we expected on the adults-only side.

Of course, we have to mention the rum punch, which flowed freely throughout the trip. It was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and just strong enough to keep the good vibes going all day long. Globalist guests also get access to a special signature cocktail — a vibrant blue drink that was fun to try, though we kept coming back to the rum punch.
